There was a push for collaboration between small companies throughout the state Tuesday afternoon.
Small businesses in the state set up booths on Western Illinois’ campus for a Diverse and Small Business Opportunity Fair.
Businesses said the purpose of the job fair is for minority and small contractors to talk about the opportunities to partner with other businesses in the state.
Contractors said, they are looking to do more work in the Tri-States.
“Maybe they didn’t have projects in the past but maybe they might have some projects coming up now and looking to build that bridge between maybe some prime contractors they’re already working with and some new contractors, some new faces, that might be smaller businesses that work together,” Livewire Construction President Shon Harris said.
The opportunity fair is held on different Illinois college campuses each year.
