ROBBINSVILLE, NJ —  More than 20 local small businesses celebrated Halloween early this year thanks to the sixth annual Scavenger Hunt and Halloween Contest hosted by the Robbinsville Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC).

An estimated 75 children plus their adult companions took part in this year’s hunt on Saturday. With their “map” in hand, hunters had to guess the correct businesses that matched the clues as they traveled through businesses in the Foxmoor shopping plaza and Town Center. Businesses that are located in other areas of town set up their tables and tents in Foxmoor to share in the scavenger hunt. The free event aims to connect the community with local business in a fun and festive way while bringing attention to the thriving Robbinsville economy.

As one mom put it “the kids had a great time and I got to do a little bit of shopping along the way.”

Each business that participated provided giveaways — such as ice cream at Friendly’s, a bracelet at Trollbeads, metal water bottles from Healthy Kids Pediatrics, and backpacks at ATA Bad Wolf Martial Arts– or fun activities and Halloween candy for the children.

A few new entrants to the local business scene such as Baby Boot Camp, Marissa Veronica Photography, Underground Nutrition, and Paragon Sport and Wellness also particpated while returning scavenger hunt destinations included Cocoa Beach Tanning, TacoRito, Allied Vision, PostNet, Starbucks, 3B’s Fine Furniture and Painting with a Twist.
