At NerdWallet, we strive to help you make financial decisions with confidence. To do this, many or all of the products featured here are from our partners. However, this doesn’t influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own.

If you’re a small-business owner primed to get an Amazon credit card, you have a new incentive to apply for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card — an extra C-note for spending on things unrelated to Amazon.

Previously, the welcome offer for new cardholders was an Amazon gift card. You still get that, but you also receive encouragement to spend on non-Amazon purchases, an apparent attempt to make the card your go-to for all spending.

Specifically, the new offer is: Eligible Prime Members get a $125 Amazon.com Gift Card upon approval for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card. Plus, earn an additional $100 statement credit after you spend $3,000 on the Card in the 2% Back and 1% Back categories in your first 3 months. Terms apply.

Those 2% back categories are on purchases at U.S. restaurants and U.S. gas stations, and on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers. The 1% back is on all other eligible purchases. Terms apply.

This same additional $100 bonus and terms also apply to the non-Prime version of this card, the Amazon Business American Express Card, although its upfront gift card offer is still lower. Get a $100 Amazon.com Gift Card upon approval for the Amazon Business American Express Card. Plus, earn an additional $100 statement credit after you spend $3,000 on the Card in the 2% Back and 1% Back categories in your first 3 months. Terms Apply.

If you’re not a big spender at Amazon, you might want to look for another small-business card.
